Indian television has hundreds of channels dedicated to comedy shows , drama series , stand – up comedy , reality TV , sports (which is mostly cricket) but if someone is really looking for entertainment , there is nothing better than the Indian news channels . News channels should come under the comedy genre .
There used to be a time when “breaking news” actually meant something. These days every second news comes with those two words. What exactly happened to the news? why are the making such mockery of themselves ?did the people who are running these channels dumb down (become stupid) or do they think that it is the people of India that prefer such stupid things ? Let’s have a look at couple of recent so called “Breaking News”.
So
let’s start with Politics, am sure you all are wondering how can anyone
go wrong with politics , politicians and news right ?Well reporters
consider what a politician ate for lunch more important then what he is
doing for the people or for his party(mainly for his pocket) but leaving
all of this aside what the news channel showed as “breaking news” was
what the politician had for lunch and broadcasted it for more than 2
hours , this makes me wonder what sort of viewers are they trying to
target here ? How does this become breaking news? How was this even
passed by the channel head to be shown on National Television?
Next
is Bollywood , the main source of entertainment for all of us other
than foreign movies , I personally see the bollywood movies just to
laugh at how pathetic the script was but none the less entertaining . So
how can the news channels go wrong here? Well, here is a “breaking
news” for you , Amitabh Bachan ko Thand lagi . The questions that pop up
again are the same .To some extent I get it that people in India
worship Amitabh Bachan and his family but how does this qualify to be a
Breaking News? why they were showing this news they were actually taking
live calls from people .
Now
this according to me is the most amusing piece of breaking news i have
ever seen of TV . ill quote the news channel .”Kya aliens gai ka doodh
peeti hain?” (do aliens drink cow’s milk ?) . Do I even need to start
with this section of news? What I am assuming is that the news channel
here is secretly running experiments on aliens and has concluded this
but since they can’t reveal to the world that they have a secret
laboratory they are stating that aliens do have milk but in the form of a
question so that we don’t ask them questions on how they know .These are just a few of the Breaking news that I have shared here. But the question is still out there, is the Indian media reaching a new low ?
